YMCA Welcomes Tennis Professional
LISA PREEG to the Team
Lisa Preeg has brought her exceptional teaching experience and playing background to the Greater Naples YMCA Tennis Center. Her first day was Friday, October 8. Lisa will be teaching private lessons, private group lessons and coaching team practices on Friday and Tuesday mornings and possibly adding another day during the week.
“The Naples Y has such a great history as a community tennis center and I’m excited to be a part of it,” said Lisa. Lisa’s teaching philosophy is all about teaching proper technique with the emphasis on fun. “In order to improve, you need the proper building blocks which include, grip, technique, footwork and court awareness. My coaching sessions work on incorporating all of those building blocks in a fun, competitive environment.”
Players interested in setting up a private individual lesson can contact Lisa directly at (239) 248-7659. Contact Jennifer Johnson, Tennis Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information, prices or help setting up private group lessons.
Lisa has been teaching tennis in Naples for the past 35 years. She has been the director of tennis at the Dunes for the past twenty years and before that was at Audubon Country Club for eleven years. Lisa was ranked number 1 in New England in both the junior and women’s division as well as number 1 in Florida. She competed on the Virginia Slims Tour and played on the major tour in The U.S. Open and other major tournaments, while achieving a ranking of 79 in the world.
Lisa has also coached many of the area’s top young players, including her two daughters, Chelsea and Jessica who were both full scholarship division one athletes.
