YMCA Welcomes Tennis Professional
Chris Eddy to the Team
The Greater Naples YMCA is pleased to announce that Chris Eddy has brought her exceptional teaching experience and background to our Tennis Center. Chris will be teaching private lessons, private group lessons and coaching team practices several days a week.
“The Naples Y has always had a strong tennis community and volunteers and I’m excited to become a part of it,” said Chris Eddy. “Many of my current clients will be joining me at the Tennis Center for group lessons and I look forwarding to adding other players into the mix."
Chris’s teaching philosophy is that practicing your technique, improving your muscle memory and visualization is essential to becoming a better player. Her favorite quote is, “The will to win, is not nearly as important as the will to prepare to win."
Players interested in setting up a private individual lesson can contact Chris directly at (239) 595-2690. Contact Jennifer Johnson, Tennis Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or help setting up private group lessons.
A USPTA Certified pro for over 40 years, Chris has been ranked #1 in Florida in the 25, 30, 35 and 45 Singles Divisions over her career. She was also named 1990 Florida Division Female Player of the Year alongside Michael Chang. She was also nationally ranked Women’s 35 #3 Singles and #5 Doubles.
Chris, a long time Naples resident of 55+ years, will continue her 25+ year role as the Director of Tennis at the Mary C. Watkins Tennis Center at the Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Club until construction closes the facility. Chris also has a B.A. in Physical Education from Flagler College.
